There are no rules when it comes to love. I just try to let love surprise me because you never know who you’re going to fall in love with. You never know who’s going to come into your life-and for me, when I picture the person I want to end up with, I don’t think about what their career is, or what they look like. I picture the feeling I get when I’m with them.
"I’ve never thought about songwriting as a weapon. I’ve only thought about it as a way to help me get through love and loss and sadness and loneliness and growing up.”
Track by track: Taylor Swift’s ‘RED’ album → Sad Beautiful Tragic
“Sad Beautiful Tragic is a song I wrote while I was on tour and I was in a tour bus that was moving and I just started playing this really hunting, sad chorus and it just was kind of very simple like… what a sad, beautiful, tragic love affair and it was just reflecting on something that was lost, you know? And…you can’t get it back. And I went home and I called the producer and I said: ‘Hey…I wrote a song. Please, please, please can we record today?’ Of course he said yes and we used that original demo in the album because it’s just came across so pure and raw.”
